For over 40 years, Winterhouse has strived to provide the highest quality custom cabinetry and furniture to our clients. That was the philosophy our company was founded on and will always be the foundation of Winterhouse projects, large and small.

Our Beginning

Mike J. Penta, Jr. was part of the corporate world as a CPA for Price Waterhouse. In 1966, when he decided it was time for a change, he started a custom cabinet shop. Without any prior cabinetry experience, the first few years were rough. With Mike’s perseverance, the company began to thrive.

In the late 1980’s, Mike decided to expand the business and constructed a 25,000 square foot building in Pipersville, PA. In addition to the custom cabinetry shop, the new building housed a retail furniture showroom.

After 10 years of continual growth, Mike found that the company had started to stray from their commitment to high quality products. At that time, Mike chose to sell the company to the manager, John Buckman. As a condition of the ownership change, John assured Mike that he would return the company to the custom cabinetry shop that customers had depended on for high quality cabinetry.

In 2010, John passed suddenly. It was at that time that Mike Penta III, who had been managing the shop under John’s ownership, bought Winterhouse from the Buckman family.

The Winterhouse family has built a large customer base on the foundation of high quality cabinetry supported by our outstanding customer relations.

We’re looking forward to the next 40 years of providing the quality cabinetry and furniture our clients have come to expect!
